Commercial Flagpoles vs. Residential Flagpoles

Although flagpoles are all designed to perform the same job- sustain the level that a flag is raised, they are not all made from the same materials. This coming Independence Day, and for each patriotic holiday throughout the year, it is good to have the right type of flagpole that you need at your disposal. At K.D. Scholten Co., we can help you find the best flagpole for either your commercial or residential property.

Flagpoles and Accessories

The fact is, flagpoles come in a variety of different materials, including fiberglass, concrete, wood and steel. Additional differences between flagpoles are found in the different accessories available. For example, if you have a flagpole that is going to be in front of a commercial building, it is a good idea to get stronger pulleys and other mechanisms to sustain it. Flagpoles that have a larger base with strong pulleys are better suited for commercial property rather than residential use since the dimensions are greater.

Some Options to Consider

Another consideration for residential property is wind ratings and whether you will be flying your flag 24/7  or only on holidays.   If only on holidays, a sectional pole or or telescoping pole may work well. Just remember they are not wind rated.  For 24/7 use you will probably want a pole that is wind rated for the area and you will probably want a solar light which can be attached to the top of your pole.  Uplighting is restricted within many areas, including El Paso.
